Surprised I didn't get at least a "try it and tell us what happens" response.
For anyone that cares to know, this worked. Drive space in my backup directory went from 95% to 63%.
zimbra@zimbra:~$ zmbackup -del 20d -a all -t /backup [my server]
DAve
